Chapter 5: Vasiṣṭha Prepares Rāma for the Coronation
Text 2.5.10
प्रातस्त्वामभिषेक्ता हि यौवराज्ये नराधिपः।
पिता दशरथः प्रीत्या ययातिं नहुषो यथा॥
prātas tvām abhiṣektā hi yauvarājye narādhipaḥ
pitā daśarathaḥ prītyā yayātiṁ nahuṣo yathā
prātaḥ = early tomorrow morning; tvām = You; abhiṣektā hi = will coronate; yauvarājye = as the crown prince; nara-adhipaḥ = King; pitā = Your father; daśarathaḥ = Daśaratha; prītyā = affectionately; yayātim = Yayāti [in the past]; nahuṣaḥ = Nahuṣa [coronated]; yathā = just as.
Early tomorrow morning, Your father King Daśaratha will affectionately coronate You as the crown prince just as Nahuṣa [coronated] Yayāti [in the past].
