Chapter 6: The Residents of Kosala Prepare to Celebrate Rāma’s Coronation

कृतोपवासं तु तदा वैदेह्या सह राघवम्।
अयोध्यानिलयः श्रुत्वा सर्वः प्रमुदितो जनः॥
kṛtopavāsaṁ tu tadā vaidehyā saha rāghavam
ayodhyā-nilayaḥ śrutvā sarvaḥ pramudito janaḥ
kṛta-upavāsam tu = had fasted; tadā = then; vaidehyā = Vaidehī; saha = with; rāghavam = that Rāghava; ayodhyā-nilayaḥ = of Ayodhyā; śrutvā = upon hearing; sarvaḥ = the entire; pramuditaḥ = very delighted; janaḥ = population.
The entire population of Ayodhyā then became very delighted upon hearing that Rāghava had fasted with Vaidehī.
