ततः पौरजनः सर्वः श्रुत्वा रामाभिषेचनम्।
प्रभातां रजनीं दृष्ट्वा चक्रे शोभयितुं पुरीम्॥
tataḥ paura-janaḥ sarvaḥ śrutvā rāmābhiṣecanam
prabhātāṁ rajanīṁ dṛṣṭvā cakre śobhayituṁ purīm
tataḥ = then; paura-janaḥ = residents of the city; sarvaḥ = all; śrutvā = after hearing; rāma-abhiṣecanam = about Rāma’s coronation; prabhātām = had turned into dawn; rajanīm = that the night; dṛṣṭvā = noticed and; cakre śobhayitum = and began to beautify; purīm = the city.
Then, after hearing about Rāma’s coronation, all residents of the city noticed that the night had turned into dawn and began to beautify the city.1
