Canto 2 -
Ayodhyā-kāṇḍa
Chapter 6: The Residents of Kosala Prepare to Celebrate Rāma’s Coronation
Text 2.6.15

रामाभिषेकयुक्ताश्च कथाश्चक्रुर्मिथो जनाः।
रामाभिषेके सम्प्राप्ते चत्वरेषु गृहेषु च॥

rāmābhiṣeka-yuktāś ca kathāś cakrur mitho janāḥ
rāmābhiṣeke samprāpte catvareṣu gṛheṣu ca

rāma-abhiṣeka-yuktāḥ ca = about Rāma’s coronation; kathāḥ cakruḥ = spoke; mithaḥ = to each other; janāḥ = the people; rāma-abhiṣeke = when [the time for] Rāma’s coronation; samprāpte = had arrived; catvareṣu = courtyards; gṛheṣu = in their homes; ca = and.

When [the time for] Rāma’s coronation had arrived, the people spoke to each other in their homes and courtyards about Rāma’s coronation.

In their homes, they spoke with the women and outside, in their courtyards, they spoke with [other] people. Their devotion to Rāma was not artificial. This is pointed out here.
