Chapter 6: The Residents of Kosala Prepare to Celebrate Rāma’s Coronation
Text 2.6.23
अनुद्धतमना विद्वान्धर्मात्मा भ्रातृवत्सलः।
यथा च भ्रातृषु स्निग्धस्तथास्मास्वपि राघवः॥
anuddhata-manā vidvān dharmātmā bhrātṛ-vatsalaḥ
yathā ca bhrātṛṣu snigdhas tathāsmāsv api rāghavaḥ
anuddhata-manāḥ = mind is humble; vidvān = He is learned; dharma-ātmā = devoted to Vedic dharma; bhrātṛ-vatsalaḥ = and affectionate to His brothers; yathā ca = just as; bhrātṛṣu = His brothers; snigdhaḥ = He loves; tathā asmāsu api = He loves us; rāghavaḥ = Rāghava’s.
Rāghava’s mind is humble. He is learned, devoted to Vedic dharma and affectionate to His brothers. He loves us just as He loves His brothers.
