Chapter 6: The Residents of Kosala Prepare to Celebrate Rāma’s Coronation

एवंविधं कथयतां पौराणां शुश्रुवुस्तदा।
दिग्भ्योऽपि श्रुतवृत्तान्ताः प्राप्ता जानपदा जनाः॥
evaṁ-vidhaṁ kathayatāṁ paurāṇāṁ śuśruvus tadā
digbhyo ’pi śruta-vṛttāntāḥ prāptā jānapadā janāḥ
evam-vidham = these words; kathayatām = spoken; paurāṇām = by the residents of Ayodhyā; śuśruvuḥ tadā = and heard; digbhyaḥ api = from all over; śruta-vṛttāntāḥ = hearing about the news of Rāma’s coronation; prāptāḥ = arrived; jānapadāḥ = the country; janāḥ = people.
Hearing about the news of Rāma’s coronation, people from all over the country arrived and heard these words spoken by the residents of Ayodhyā.
