Chapter 6: The Residents of Kosala Prepare to Celebrate Rāma’s Coronation
Text 2.6.27

जनौघैस्तैर्विसर्पद्भिः शुश्रुवे तत्र निस्वनः।
पर्वसूदीर्णवेगस्य सागरस्येव निस्वनः॥

janaughais tair visarpadbhiḥ śuśruve tatra nisvanaḥ
parvasūdīrṇa-vegasya sāgarasyeva nisvanaḥ

jana-oghaiḥ = crowds of people; taiḥ = produced by the; visarpadbhiḥ = who were coming in from various lands; śuśruve = was; tatra = there; nisvanaḥ = the sound; parvasu = on the Pūrṇimā; udīrṇa-
vegasya
= with its impetuous [waves]; sāgarasya = of the ocean; iva = like; nisvanaḥ = the sound.

The sound produced by the crowds of people there, who were coming in from various lands, was like the sound of the ocean with its impetuous [waves] on the Pūrṇimā.
