Chapter 7: Mantharā Instructs Kaikeyī to Stop the Coronation
Text 2.7.32
अतीव सा तु संहृष्टा कैकेयी विस्मयान्विता।
एकमाभरणं तस्यै कुब्जायै प्रददौ शुभम्॥
atīva sā tu saṁhṛṣṭā kaikeyī vismayānvitā
ekam ābharaṇaṁ tasyai kubjāyai pradadau śubham
atīva = extremely; sā = she; tu = however; saṁhṛṣṭā = became pleased; kaikeyī = Kaikeyī; vismaya-anvitā = and astonished; ekam = a; ābharaṇam = ornament; tasyai = the; kubjāyai = hunchback; pradadau = gave; śubham = beautiful.
However, Kaikeyī became extremely pleased and astonished. She gave a beautiful ornament to the hunchback.
