Text 2.9.1
एवमुक्ता तु कैकेयी कोपेन ज्वलितानना।
दीर्घमुष्णं विनिश्वस्य मथरामिदमब्रवीत्॥
evam uktā tu kaikeyī kopena jvalitānanā
dīrgham uṣṇaṁ viniśvasya matharām idam abravīt
evam = thus; uktā tu = when was addressed; kaikeyī = Kaikeyī; kopena = with anger; jvalita-ānanā = her face blazed; dīrgham = a long; uṣṇam = and warm; viniśvasya = with a sigh; matharām = to Mantharā; idam = the following; abravīt = she spoke.
When Kaikeyī was addressed thus, her face blazed with anger. With a long and warm sigh, she spoke the following to Mantharā.
Though Kaikeyī was aware of Rāma’s auspicious qualities, her heart was disturbed by the devas intent on their mission and she approved of Mantharā’s words.
Kaikeyī’s face blazed with anger upon hearing that she would become [Kausalyā’s] maidservant.
