Chapter 9: Kaikeyī Convinced by Mantharā

किं न स्मरसि कैकेयि स्मरन्ती वा निगूहसे।
यदुच्यमानमात्मार्थं मत्तस्त्वं श्रोतुमिच्छसि॥
kiṁ na smarasi kaikeyi smarantī vā nigūhase
yad ucyamānam ātmārthaṁ mattas tvaṁ śrotum icchasi
kim na smarasi = don’t you remember it; kaikeyi = Kaikeyī; smarantī = that you do remember it; vā = or is it that; nigūhase = you are concealing the fact; yat = about that; ucyamānam = speak; ātma-artham = which you need; mattaḥ = me; tvam = you; śrotum = to hear; icchasi = do want.
Kaikeyī, you do want to hear me speak about that which you need. Don’t you remember it? Or is it that you are concealing the fact that you do remember it?
