Canto 2 -
Ayodhyā-kāṇḍa
Chapter 9: Kaikeyī Convinced by Mantharā
Text 2.9.8

श्रुत्वेदं वचनं तस्या मन्थरायास्तु कैकयी।
किञ्चिदुत्थाय शयनात्स्वास्तीर्णादिदमब्रवीत्॥

śrutvedaṁ vacanaṁ tasyā mantharāyās tu kaikayī
kiñcid utthāya śayanāt svāstīrṇād idam abravīt

śrutvā = hearing; idam = these; vacanam = words; tasyāḥ mantharāyāḥ tu = of Mantharā; kaikayī = Kaikeyī; kiñcit = slightly; utthāya = got up and; śayanāt = from her bed; su-āstīrṇāt = nicely arranged; idam = as follows; abravīt = spoke.

Hearing these words of Mantharā, Kaikeyī slightly got up from her nicely arranged bed and spoke as follows.

She got up not because something was wrong with her bed—it was nicely arranged. She slightly got up from her bed out of great respect [for Mantharā for what she had to tell her].1
