Chapter 9: Kaikeyī Convinced by Mantharā
Text 2.9.15
तत्राकरोन्महद्युद्धं राजा दशरथस्तदा।
असुरैश्च महाबाहुः शस्त्रैश्च शकलीकृतः॥
tatrākaron mahad yuddhaṁ rājā daśarathas tadā
asuraiś ca mahā-bāhuḥ śastraiś ca śakalī-kṛtaḥ
tatra = in the campsite where the men had been asleep; akarot = engaged; mahat = in a great; yuddham = war; rājā = King; daśarathaḥ = Daśaratha; tadā = at that time; asuraiḥ = with the asuras; mahā-bāhuḥ = the mighty-armed; śastraiḥ = by their weapons; ca = and; śakalī-kṛtaḥ = was smashed.
At that time, the mighty-armed King Daśaratha engaged in a great war with the asuras in the campsite where the men had been asleep, and was smashed by their weapons.
