Chapter 9: Kaikeyī Convinced by Mantharā
Text 2.9.16
अपवाह्य त्वया देवि सङ्ग्रामान्नष्टचेतनः।
तत्रापि विक्षतः शस्त्रैः पतिस्ते रक्षितस्त्वया॥
apavāhya tvayā devi saṅgrāmān naṣṭa-cetanaḥ
tatrāpi vikṣataḥ śastraiḥ patis te rakṣitas tvayā
apavāhya = took [him and healed him]; tvayā = you; devi = O queen; saṅgrāmāt = away from the battle; naṣṭa-cetanaḥ = when he had lost his consciousness; tatra = there; api = again; vikṣataḥ = when was injured; śastraiḥ = by [their] weapons; patiḥ = husband; te = your; rakṣitaḥ = healed [him again]; tvayā = you.
O queen, you took [him] away from the battle when he had lost his consciousness [and healed him]. When your husband was again injured by [their] weapons there, you healed [him again].
Kaikeyī placed her unconscious husband in a chariot and drove him to another place where she cured him through cold remedies. Then, he was injured again in war by the weapons [of the asuras] and she took him away to another place and cured him [again].
