Chapter 11: Kaikeyī Demands two Boons
Text 2.11.6
तेनाजय्येन मुख्येन राघवेण महात्मना।
शपे ते जीवनार्हेण ब्रूहि यन्मनसेच्छसि॥
tenājayyena mukhyena rāghaveṇa mahātmanā
śape te jīvanārheṇa brūhi yan manasecchasi
tena = the; ajayyena = unconquerable; mukhyena = chief; rāghaveṇa = on Rāghava; mahā-ātmanā = great soul; śape = I promise [that I will do as you say]; te = you; jīvana-arheṇa = who is more worshippable to me than even my own life; brūhi = tell me; yat = what; manasā = in your mind; icchasi = you desire.
I promise you on Rāghava, the chief unconquerable great soul who is more worshippable to me than even my own life, [that I will do as you say]. Tell me what you desire in your mind.
