Chapter 12: Kaikeyī Reaffirms her Demands
Text 2.12.5
अहो धिगिति सामर्षो वाचमुक्त्वा नराधिपः।
मोहमापेदिवान्भूयः शोकोपहतचेतनः॥
aho dhig iti sāmarṣo vācam uktvā narādhipaḥ
moham āpedivān bhūyaḥ śokopahata-cetanaḥ
aho dhik iti = “alas”; sa-amarṣaḥ = with anger; vācam uktvā = saying; nara-adhipaḥ = the king; moham = bewildered; āpedivān = became; bhūyaḥ = again; śoka-upahata-cetanaḥ = his mind overwhelmed with distress.
Saying “Alas!” with anger, the king again became bewildered, his mind overwhelmed with distress.
