Chapter 12: Kaikeyī Reaffirms her Demands
Text 2.12.10
जीवलोको यथा सर्वो रामस्याह गुणस्तवम्।
अपराधं कमुद्दिश्य त्यक्ष्यामीष्टमहं सुतम्॥
jīva-loko yathā sarvo rāmasyāha guṇa-stavam
aparādhaṁ kam uddiśya tyakṣyāmīṣṭam ahaṁ sutam
jīva-lokaḥ = world of living beings; yathā = while; sarvaḥ = the entire; rāmasya = of Rāma; āha guṇa-stavam = glorifies the auspicious qualities; aparādham = offense [even alleged to be committed by Him]; kam = which; uddiśya = considering; tyakṣyāmi = can reject; iṣṭam = cherished; aham = I; sutam = my son.
While the entire world of living beings glorifies the auspicious qualities of Rāma, considering which offense [even alleged to be committed by Him] can I reject my cherished son?
