Chapter 12: Kaikeyī Reaffirms her Demands
Text 2.12.57
अनर्थमिममर्थाभं केन त्वमुपदर्शिता।
भूतोपहतचित्तेव ब्रुवन्ती माम्न लज्जसे॥
anartham imam arthābhaṁ kena tvam upadarśitā
bhūtopahata-citteva bruvantī mām na lajjase
anartham = disaster; imam = that this; artha-ābham = is an accomplishment; kena = who; tvam = you; upadarśitā = has counseled; bhūta-upahata-cittā = a woman possessed by a ghost; iva = like; bruvantī = while speaking; mām = me; na lajjase = aren’t you embarrassing.
Who has counseled you that this disaster is an accomplishment? Aren’t you embarrassing me while speaking like a woman possessed by a ghost?
