Chapter 12: Kaikeyī Reaffirms her Demands
Text 2.12.101
महार्हवस्त्रसंवीतो भूत्वा चिरसुखोषितः।
काषायपरिधानस्तु कथं भूमौ निवत्स्यति॥
mahārha-vastra-saṁvīto bhūtvā cira-sukhoṣitaḥ
kāṣāya-paridhānas tu kathaṁ bhūmau nivatsyati
mahā-arha-vastra-saṁvītaḥ bhūtvā = who wore greatly valuable clothes; cira-sukha-uṣitaḥ = and slept comfortably for a long time [each night] on bed; kāṣāya-paridhānaḥ tu = now wear saffron cloth and; katham = how; bhūmau = on the ground; nivatsyati = will He rest.
How will He, who wore greatly valuable clothes and slept comfortably for a long time [each night] on bed, now wear saffron cloth and rest on the ground?
