Canto 2 -
Ayodhyā-kāṇḍa
Chapter 12: Kaikeyī Reaffirms her Demands
Text 2.12.102

कस्यैतद्दारुणं वाक्यमेवंविधमचिन्तितम्।
रामस्यारण्यगमनं भरतस्याभिषेचनम्॥

kasyaitad dāruṇaṁ vākyam evaṁ-vidham acintitam
rāmasyāraṇya-gamanaṁ bharatasyābhiṣecanam

kasya = who has ever spoken; etat = such; dāruṇam = terrible; vākyam = words; evam-vidham = like this; acintitam = words which had never ever been thought of before; rāmasya = that Rāma; araṇya-gamanam = should go to the forest; bharatasya = and that Bharata; abhiṣecanam = should [instead] be coronated.

Who has ever spoken such terrible words like this, words which had never ever been thought of before, that Rāma should go to the forest and that Bharata should [instead] be coronated?

This verse also indicates the following question: Who could ever tolerate such words [of Kaikeyī]?
