vihvalābhyāṁ ca netrābhyām apaśyann iva bhūmipaḥ
kṛcchrād dhairyeṇa saṁstabhya kaikeyīm idam abravīt
vihvalābhyām = with his agitated; ca = and; netrābhyām = eyes; apaśyan = not seeing; iva = as if; bhūmipaḥ = the king; kṛcchrāt = with difficulty; dhairyeṇa = patiently; saṁstabhya = composed his mind; kaikeyīm = to Kaikeyī; idam = as follows; abravīt = spoke.
As if not seeing with his agitated eyes, the king patiently composed his mind with difficulty and spoke to Kaikeyī as follows.
“As if not seeing with his agitated eyes” indicates that the king was standing like a blind man. He suppressed his agitation on account of his excessive sorrow with difficulty.
