Canto 2 -
Ayodhyā-kāṇḍa
Chapter 14: Daśaratha Grants Kaikeyī her two Boons
Text 2.14.16

रामाभिषेकसंभारैस्तदर्थमुपकल्पितैः।
रामः कारयितव्यो मे मृतस्य सलिलक्रियाम्॥

rāmābhiṣeka-sambhārais tad-artham upakalpitaiḥ
rāmaḥ kārayitavyo me mṛtasya salila-kriyām

rāma-abhiṣeka-sambhāraiḥ = with the ingredients gathered for Rāma’s coronation ceremony; tat-artham = for that purpose; upakalpitaiḥ = by those appointed; rāmaḥ = Rāma; kārayitavyaḥ = should perform; me = for me; mṛtasya = who will die [now]; salila-kriyām = the funeral rite.

Rāma should perform the funeral rite for me, who will die [now], with the ingredients gathered for Rāma’s coronation ceremony by those appointed for that purpose.

Daśaratha implied that the ingredients for the coronation themselves can be the ingredients for his funeral rite.

Verses 15 and 16 can also mean: “O queen, the night has passed by. My superiors will certainly hurry me up for the coronation when the sun rises with the ingredients gathered for Rāma’s coronation ceremony by those officiating in it. Rāma should perform the funeral rite for me, who will die now.”
