Canto 2 -
Ayodhyā-kāṇḍa
Chapter 14: Daśaratha Grants Kaikeyī her two Boons
Text 2.14.19

तं तथा ब्रुवतस्तस्य भूमिपस्य महात्मनः।
प्रभाता शर्वरी पुण्या चन्द्रनक्षत्रशालिनी॥

taṁ tathā bruvatas tasya bhūmipasya mahātmanaḥ
prabhātā śarvarī puṇyā candra-nakṣatraśālinī

tam tathā = thus; bruvataḥ = spoke; tasya = the; bhūmipasya = while King Daśaratha; mahā-ātmanaḥ = great soul; prabhātā = turned into dawn; śarvarī = night; puṇyā = the pious; candra-nakṣatraśālinī = with the moon and the stars.

While King Daśaratha, the great soul, spoke thus, the pious night with the moon and the stars turned into dawn.

The night is described as pious because there was the possibility of seeing Rāma.
