Chapter 14: Daśaratha Grants Kaikeyī her two Boons
Text 2.14.20
ततः पापसमाचारा कैकेयी पार्थिवं पुनः।
उवाच परुषं वाक्यं वाक्यज्ञा रोषमूर्च्छिता॥
tataḥ pāpa-samācārā kaikeyī pārthivaṁ punaḥ
uvāca paruṣaṁ vākyaṁ vākyajñā roṣa-mūrcchitā
tataḥ = then; pāpa-samācārā = of sinful conduct; kaikeyī = Kaikeyī; pārthivam = to the king; punaḥ = again; uvāca = spoke; paruṣam = harsh; vākyam = words; vākyajñā = she knew how to speak; roṣa-mūrcchitā = and she was furious.
Then, Kaikeyī of sinful conduct again spoke harsh words to the king. She knew how to speak and she was furious.
