Chapter 14: Daśaratha Grants Kaikeyī her two Boons
Text 2.14.31
तदन्तःपुरमासाद्य व्यतिचक्राम तं जनम्।
वसिष्ठः परमप्रीतः परमर्षिर्विवेश च॥
tad antaḥ-puram āsādya vyaticakrāma taṁ janam
vasiṣṭhaḥ parama-prītaḥ parama-rṣir viveśa ca
tat = the; antaḥ-puram = inner quarters; āsādya = reaching; vyaticakrāma = passed through; tam janam = the crowd; vasiṣṭhaḥ = Vasiṣṭha; parama-prītaḥ = in great happiness; parama-ṛṣiḥ = the excellent sage; viveśa = entered [the quarters]; ca = and.
Reaching the inner quarters, the excellent sage Vasiṣṭha passed through the crowd and entered [the quarters] in great happiness.
Vasiṣṭha reached the pavilion after passing through the crowd. Then he proceded inside the pavilion [to the king’s residence].
