Chapter 14: Daśaratha Grants Kaikeyī her two Boons
Text 2.14.45
स समीपस्थितो राज्ञस्तामवस्थामजज्ञिवान्।
वाग्भिः परमतुष्टाभिरभिष्टोतुं प्रचक्रमे॥
sa samīpa-sthito rājñas tām avasthām ajajñivān
vāgbhiḥ parama-tuṣṭābhir abhiṣṭotuṁ pracakrame
saḥ = Sumantra; samīpa-sthitaḥ = standing near; rājñaḥ = the king; tām = about the; avasthām = the current state of affairs; ajajñivān = not aware; vāgbhiḥ = with the following words; parama-tuṣṭābhiḥ = filled with extreme satisfaction; abhiṣṭotum = to praise him; pracakrame = began.
Standing near the king, not aware about the current state of affairs, Sumantra began to praise him with the following words filled with extreme satisfaction.
