सहभार्याय रामाय क्षिप्रमेवाचचक्षिरे॥
te rāmam upasaṅgamya bhartuḥ priya-cikīrṣavaḥ
saha-bhāryāya rāmāya kṣipram evācacakṣire
te = they; rāmam = Rāma; upasaṅgamya = approached and; bhartuḥ = of their master; priya-cikīrṣavaḥ = as well-wishers; saha-bhāryāya = and His wife; rāmāya = Rāma; kṣipram eva = quickly; ācacakṣire = informed.
As well-wishers of their master, they approached Rāma and quickly informed Rāma and His wife.
GLOSS. [The glossator has the reading sabhāryāya ca instead of saha-bhāryāya] which also indicates that Rāma was the noblest in the assembly.
