Chapter 16: Rāma Passes Through the Grand Road to Meet Daśaratha
Text 2.16.14
एवमुक्तस्तु संहृष्टो नरसिंहो महाद्युतिः।
ततः सम्मानयामास सीतामिदमुवाच ह॥
evam uktas tu saṁhṛṣṭo nara-siṁho mahā-dyutiḥ
tataḥ sammānayām āsa sītām idam uvāca ca
evam = this; uktaḥ tu = upon being told; saṁhṛṣṭaḥ = became delighted; nara-siṁhaḥ = the prince; mahā-dyutiḥ = of great effulgence; tataḥ = then; sammānayām āsa = and honored him; sītām = Sītā; idam = the following; uvāca ca = He told.
Upon being told this, the prince of great effulgence became delighted and honored him. He then told Sītā the following.
देवि देवश्च देवी च समागम्य मदन्तरे।
मन्त्रयेते ध्रुवं किञ्चिदभिषेचनसंहितम्॥
