Chapter 16: Rāma Passes Through the Grand Road to Meet Daśaratha
Text 2.16.42
इति प्रासादशृङ्गेषु प्रमदाभिर्नरोत्तमः।
शुश्राव राजमार्गस्थः प्रिया वाच उदाहृताः॥
iti prāsāda-śṛṅgeṣu pramadābhir narottamaḥ
śuśrāva rāja-mārgasthaḥ priyā vāca udāhṛtāḥ
iti = these; prāsāda-śṛṅgeṣu = on the roofs of the mansions; pramadābhiḥ = by the ladies; nara-uttamaḥ = Prince Rāma; śuśrāva = heard; rāja-mārgasthaḥ = while passing through the grand road; priyāḥ = pleasing; vācaḥ = words; udāhṛtāḥ = spoken.
While passing through the grand road, Prince Rāma heard these pleasing words spoken by the ladies on the roofs of the mansions.
