Chapter 17: Rāma Glorified by His well-wishers
Text 2.17.2
स गृहैरभ्रसङ्काशैः पाण्डुरैरुपशोभितम्।
राजमार्गं ययौ रामो मध्येनागरुधूपितम्॥
sa gṛhair abhra-saṅkāśaiḥ pāṇḍurair upaśobhitam
rāja-mārgaṁ yayau rāmo madhyenāgaru-dhūpitam
saḥ1 gṛhaiḥ = by houses; abhra-saṅkāśaiḥ = with the complexion of a white cloud; pāṇḍuraiḥ = that were pale; upaśobhitam = and ornamented; rāja-mārgam = of the grand road; yayau = went; rāmaḥ = Rāma; madhyena = in the middle; agaru-dhūpitam = it was fragrant with agaru.
Rāma went in the middle of the grand road. It was fragrant with agaru and ornamented by houses that were pale with the complexion of a white cloud.
