Text 2.17.22

ततः प्रविष्टे पितुरन्तिकं तदा जनः स सर्वो मुदितो नृपात्मजे।
प्रतीक्षते तस्य पुनर्विनिर्गमं यथोदयं चन्द्रमसः सरित्पतिः॥

tataḥ praviṣṭe pitur antikaṁ tadā
janaḥ sa sarvo mudito nṛpātmaje
pratīkṣate tasya punar vinirgamaṁ
yathodayaṁ candramasaḥ sarit-patiḥ

tataḥ praviṣṭe = entered; pituḥ = His father’s; antikam = house; tadā janaḥ saḥ sarvaḥ = everyone; muditaḥ = became delighted; nṛpa-ātmaje = when Prince Rāma; pratīkṣate = and waited; tasya = His; punaḥ = again; vinirgamam = for return; yathā = just as; udayam candramasaḥ = [waits for] the moonrise; sarit-patiḥ = the ocean.

When Prince Rāma entered His father’s house, everyone became delighted and again waited for His return just as the ocean waits for the moonrise.
