Canto 2 -
Ayodhyā-kāṇḍa
Chapter 19: Rāma Promises to Leave for the Forest
Text 2.19.6

अलीकं मानसं त्वेकं हृदयं दहतीव मे।
स्वयं यन्नाह मां राजा भरतस्याभिषेचनम्॥

alīkaṁ mānasaṁ tv ekaṁ hṛdayaṁ dahatīva me
svayaṁ yan nāha māṁ rājā bharatasyābhiṣecanam

alīkam = sorrowful; mānasam = thought; tu = but; ekam = one; hṛdayam = heart; dahati = burn; iva = appears to; me = My; svayam = personally; yat na = not; āha = did talk; mām = to Me; rājā = the king; bharatasya = about Bharata’s; abhiṣecanam = coronation.

But one sorrowful thought appears to burn My heart: the king did not personally talk to Me about Bharata’s coronation.

Lord Rāma then anticipated that Kaikeyī might tell Him that King Daśaratha did not talk to Him about Bharata’s coronation considering that Rāma would be displeased and so spoke the next verse.
