Chapter 19: Rāma Promises to Leave for the Forest
Text 2.19.12
सा हृष्टा तस्य तद्वाक्यं श्रुत्वा रामस्य कैकयी।
प्रस्थानं श्रद्दधाना हि त्वरयामास राघवम्॥
sā hṛṣṭā tasya tad vākyaṁ śrutvā rāmasya kaikayī
prasthānaṁ śraddadhānā hi tvarayām āsa rāghavam
sā = she; hṛṣṭā = became delighted; tasya = He would; tat = those; vākyam = words; śrutvā = upon hearing; rāmasya = of Rāma; kaikayī = Kaikeyī; prasthānam = [indeed] depart; śraddadhānā hi = trusting that; tvarayām āsa = urged to hurry up [with the following words]; rāghavam = Rāghava.
Upon hearing those words of Rāma, Kaikeyī became delighted. Trusting that He would [indeed] depart, she urged Rāghava to hurry up [with the following words].
