Chapter 20: Kausalyā’s Lamentation
Text 2.20.34
उपावृत्योत्थितां दीनां बडबामिव वाहिताम्।
पांसुकुण्ठितसर्वाङ्गीं विममर्श च पाणिना॥
upāvṛtyotthitāṁ dīnāṁ baḍavām iva vāhitām
pāṁsu-kuṇṭhita-sarvāṅgīṁ vimamarśa ca pāṇinā
upāvṛtya = Śrī Rāma held and; utthitām = her as she got up; dīnām = sorrowfully; baḍavām = mare; iva = who resembled; vāhitām = a burdened; pāṁsu-kuṇṭhita-sarva-aṅgīm = the dust that had gathered all over her body; vimamarśa ca = and removed; pāṇinā = with His hand.
Śrī Rāma held her who resembled a burdened mare as she sorrowfully got up and removed with His hand the dust that had gathered all over her body.
