Chapter 21: Rāma Consoles Kausalyā and Lakṣmaṇa
Text 2.21.10
मया पार्श्वे सधनुषा तव गुप्तस्य राघव।
कः समर्थोऽधिकं कर्तुं कृतान्तस्येव तिष्ठतः॥
mayā pārśve sadhanuṣā tava guptasya rāghava
kaḥ samartho ’dhikaṁ kartuṁ kṛtāntasyeva tiṣṭhataḥ
mayā = when I; pārśve = am next to You; sadhanuṣā = with My bow; tava = You; guptasya = protecting; rāghava = Rāghava; kaḥ = who; samarthaḥ = is capable; adhikam kartum = of overpowering You; kṛtāntasya = death itself; iva = like; tiṣṭhataḥ = when You stand.
Rāghava, when I am next to You with My bow protecting You, who is capable of overpowering You when You stand like death itself?
