Chapter 21: Rāma Consoles Kausalyā and Lakṣmaṇa
Text 2.21.51
अम्ब संहृत्य सम्भारान्दुःखं हृदि निगृह्य च।
वनवासकृता बुद्धिर्मम धर्म्यानुवर्त्येताम्॥
amba saṁhṛtya sambhārān duḥkhaṁ hṛdi nigṛhya ca
vana-vāsa-kṛtā buddhir mama dharmyānuvartyatām
amba = mother; saṁhṛtya = set aside; sambhārān = these items for worship [for My coronation]; duḥkham = the distress; hṛdi = in your heart; nigṛhya ca = control; vana-vāsa-kṛtā = of residing in the forest; buddhiḥ = idea; mama = My; dharmyā = dhārmika; anuvartyatām = sanction.
Mother, set aside these items for worship [for My coronation]. Control the distress in your heart. Sanction My dhārmika idea of residing in the forest.
