Chapter 25: Kausalyā Invokes Auspiciousness for Rāma
Text 2.25.28
घृतं श्वेतानि माल्यानि समिधः श्वेतसर्षपान्।
उपसम्पादयामास कौसल्या परमाङ्गना॥
ghṛtaṁ śvetāni mālyāni samidhaḥ śveta-sarṣapān
upasampādayām āsa kausalyā paramāṅganā
ghṛtam = ghee; śvetāni = white; mālyāni = flower garlands; samidhaḥ = sacrificial wood; śveta-sarṣapān = and white mustard seeds; upasampādayām āsa = had procured for the fire sacrifice; kausalyā = Kausalyā; parama-aṅganā = the noble lady.
The noble lady Kausalyā had ghee, white flower garlands, sacrificial wood and white mustard seeds procured for the fire sacrifice.
