Chapter 25: Kausalyā Invokes Auspiciousness for Rāma
Text 2.25.29
उपाध्यायः स विधिना हुत्वा शान्तिमनामयम्।
हुतहव्यावशेषेण बाह्यं बलिमकल्पयत्॥
upādhyāyaḥ sa vidhinā hutvā śāntim anāmayam
huta-havyāvaśeṣeṇa bāhyaṁ balim akalpayat
upādhyāyaḥ = officiating priest; saḥ = that; vidhinā = according to the scriptures; hutvā = performed the sacrifice and; śāntim = and tranquility; anāmayam = for [Rāmacandra’s] good health; huta-havya-avaśeṣeṇa = with the remaining sacrificial oblations; bāhyam = outside the sacrificial arena; balim akalpayat = performed ceremonies.
That officiating priest performed the sacrifice according to the scriptures for [Rāmacandra’s] good health and tranquility, and performed ceremonies with the remaining sacrificial oblations outside the sacrificial arena.
