Chapter 25: Kausalyā Invokes Auspiciousness for Rāma
Text 2.25.31
ततस्तस्मै द्विजेन्द्राय राममाता यशस्विनी।
दक्षिणां प्रददौ काम्यां राघवं चेदमब्रवीत्॥
tatas tasmai dvijendrāya rāma-mātā yaśasvinī
dakṣiṇāṁ pradadau kāmyāṁ rāghavaṁ cedam abravīt
tataḥ = then; tasmai = that; dvija-indrāya = best of the twice-born; rāma-mātā = Rāma’s mother; yaśasvinī = illustrious; dakṣiṇām = gifts; pradadau = gave; kāmyām = as he desired; rāghavam = to Rāghava; ca = and; idam = the following words; abravīt = spoke.
Rāma’s illustrious mother then gave that best of the twice-born gifts as he desired and spoke to Rāghava the following words.
