Chapter 25: Kausalyā Invokes Auspiciousness for Rāma
Text 2.25.36
ऋतवः सागरा द्वीपा वेदा लोका दिशश्च ते।
मङ्गलानि महाबाहो दिशन्तु शुभमङ्गलाः॥
ṛtavaḥ sāgarā dvīpā vedā lokā diśaś ca te
maṅgalāni mahā-bāho diśantu śubha-maṅgalāḥ
ṛtavaḥ = seasons; sāgarāḥ = oceans; dvīpāḥ = islands; vedāḥ = Vedas; lokāḥ = worlds; diśaḥ = directions; ca = and; te = unto You; maṅgalāni = auspiciousness; mahā-bāho = O mighty-armed one; diśantu = may bestow; śubha-maṅgalāḥ = the most auspicious.
O mighty-armed one, may the most auspicious seasons, oceans, islands, Vedas, worlds and directions bestow auspiciousness unto You!
“Most auspicious” refers to those among auspicious items that make auspicious items more auspicious.
