Chapter 25: Kausalyā Invokes Auspiciousness for Rāma
Text 2.25.35
त्रीन्विक्रमान्प्रक्रमतो विष्णोरमिततेजसः।
यदासीन्मङ्गलं राम तत्ते भवतु मङ्गलम्॥
trīn vikramān prakramato viṣṇor amita-tejasaḥ
yad āsīn maṅgalaṁ rāma tat te bhavatu maṅgalam
trīn = in three; vikramān = steps; prakramataḥ = as He occupied [the entire universe]; viṣṇoḥ = with Lord Viṣṇu; amita-tejasaḥ = of unlimited prowess; yad = that; āsīt maṅgalam = was; rāma = Rāma; tat = the; te = You; bhavatu maṅgalam = may possess auspiciousness.
Rāma, may You possess the auspiciousness that was with Lord Viṣṇu of unlimited prowess when He occupied [the entire universe] in three steps!
