न त्वां प्रकृतयः सर्वाः श्रेणीमुख्याश्च भूषिताः।
अनुव्रजितुमिच्छन्ति पौरजानपदास्तथा॥
na tvāṁ prakṛtayaḥ sarvāḥ śreṇī-mukhyāś ca bhūṣitāḥ
anuvrajitum icchanti paura-jānapadās tathā
na = not; tvām = You; prakṛtayaḥ = ministers, other royal officials; sarvāḥ = all of; śreṇī-mukhyāḥ = road supervisors; ca = and; bhūṣitāḥ = the decorated; anuvrajitum = to follow; icchanti = do want; paura-jānapadāḥ tathā = the residents of the city and country.
“All of the decorated ministers, other royal officials, road supervisors and the residents of the city and country do not want to follow You.1
1 They do not want to follow Rāma because He has already forbidden them from attempting to do so before He entered Queen Kausalyā’s house. Mother Sītā sensed that something has seriously gone wrong.
