Canto 2 -
Ayodhyā-kāṇḍa
Chapter 27: Sītā Requests Rāma to Take Her to the Forest
Text 2.27.20

एवं वर्षसहस्राणां शतं वाहं त्वया सह।
व्यतिक्रमं न वेत्स्यामि स्वर्गोऽपि न हि मे मतः॥

evaṁ varṣa-sahasrāṇāṁ śataṁ vāhaṁ tvayā saha
vyatikramaṁ na vetsyāmi svargo ’pi na hi me mataḥ

evam = thus; varṣa-sahasrāṇām śatam = a hundred thousand years; aham = I; tvayā saha = in Your association; vyatikramam = has passed; na = not; vetsyāmi = will know; svargaḥ = Svarga; api = even; na hi = is not; me = to me in Your absence; mataḥ = valuable.

Thus, in Your association, I will not know that a hundred thousand years has passed. Even Svarga is not valuable to me in Your absence.

Sītā-devī says that in Lord Rāma’s association she would not experience a hundred thousand years in His association. In other words, she would pass them in a moment. Then what to speak of a mere fourteen years?

She eleborates on this in the next verse.
