Chapter 30: Rāma Allows Sītā to Follow Him to the Forest
Text 2.30.43
ब्राह्मणेभ्यश्च रत्नानि भिक्षुकेभ्यश्च भोजनम्।
देहि चाशंसमानेभ्यः सन्त्वरस्व च मा चिरम्॥
brāhmaṇebhyaś ca ratnāni bhikṣukebhyaś ca bhojanam
dehi cāśaṁsamānebhyaḥ santvarasva ca mā ciram
brāhmaṇebhyaḥ ca = to brāhmaṇas; ratnāni = jewels; bhikṣu-kebhyaḥ = to mendicants; ca = and; bhojanam = food; dehi ca = give; āśaṁsamānebhyaḥ = in need; santvarasva ca = be quick; mā ciram = don’t delay.
Give jewels to brāhmaṇas in need and food to mendicants. Be quick! Don’t delay.
