Chapter 32: Rāma Gives Away His Wealth Before Departing
Text 2.32.28
ततः स पुरुषव्याघ्रस्तद्धनं सहलक्ष्मणः। द्विजेभ्यो बालवृद्धेभ्यः कृपणेभ्यो ह्यदापयत्॥
tataḥ sa puruṣa-vyāghras tad dhanaṁ saha-lakṣmaṇaḥ dvijebhyo bāla-vṛddhebhyaḥ kṛpaṇebhyo hy adāpayat
tataḥ = then; saḥ puruṣa-vyāghraḥ = Prince Rāma; tat = the; dhanam = wealth; saha-lakṣmaṇaḥ = and Lakṣmaṇa; dvijebhyaḥ = twice-born; bāla-vṛddhebhyaḥ = [both] young and old; kṛpaṇebhyaḥ hi = to the poor; adāpayat = had given.
Then Prince Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa had the wealth given to the poor twice-born, [both] young and old.
