Chapter 33: Rāma, Sītā and Lakṣmaṇa Depart to Meet Daśaratha
Text 2.33.16
ते लक्ष्मण इव क्षिप्रं सपत्न्यः सहबान्धवाः।
गच्छन्तमनुगच्छामो येन गच्छति राघवः॥
te lakṣmaṇa iva kṣipraṁ sapatnyaḥ saha-bāndhavāḥ
gacchantam anugacchāmo yena gacchati rāghavaḥ
te = we; lakṣmaṇaḥ = Lakṣmaṇa; iva = like; kṣipram = quickly; sapatnyaḥ = along with our wives; saha-bāndhavāḥ = and relatives; gacchantam = when He departs [to the forest]; anugacchāmaḥ = will follow; yena = the path through which; gacchati = goes; rāghavaḥ = Rāghava.
Like Lakṣmaṇa, we, along with our wives and relatives, will quickly follow the path through which Rāghava goes when He departs [to the forest].1
