Chapter 34: Rāma, Lakṣmaṇa and Sītā Meet Daśaratha
Text 2.34.44
अहं निदेशं भवतो यथोक्तमनुपालयन्।
चतुर्दश समा वत्स्ये वने वनचरैः सह॥
ahaṁ nideśaṁ bhavato yathoktam anupālayan
caturdaśa samā vatsye vane vanacaraiḥ saha
aham = I; nideśam = command 3; bhavataḥ = your; yathā-uktam = fully; anupālayan = while carrying out; caturdaśa = for fourteen; samāḥ = years; vatsye = I will reside; vane = in the forest; vanacaraiḥ = the ascetics who live there; saha = with.
While carrying out your command fully, I will reside in the forest for fourteen years with the ascetics who live there.
