Chapter 35: Furious Sumantra Criticizes Kaikeyī
Text 2.35.15
महाब्रह्मर्षिजुष्टा वा ज्वलन्तो भीमदर्शनाः।
धिग्वाग्दण्डा न हिंसन्ति रामप्रव्राजने स्थिताम्॥
mahā-brahma-rṣi-juṣṭā vā jvalanto bhīma-darśanāḥ
dhig-vāg-daṇḍā na hiṁsanti rāma-pravrājane sthitām
mahā-brahma-ṛṣi-juṣṭāḥ vā = issued by great brahmarṣis like Vasiṣṭha 2; jvalantaḥ = terrible; bhīma-darśanāḥ = that are; dhik-vāk-daṇḍāḥ = [I am surprised that] condemnations and verbal punishments; na hiṁsanti = do not injure; rāma-pravrājane = on exiling Rāma; sthitām = the lady whose mind is fixed.
[I am surprised that] terrible condemnations and verbal punishments issued by great brahmarṣis like Vasiṣṭha that are frightening in appearance do not injure the lady whose mind is fixed on exiling Rāma.
