Chapter 35: Furious Sumantra Criticizes Kaikeyī
Text 2.35.18
तव मातुरसद्ग्राहं विद्मः पूर्वं यथा श्रुतम्॥
tava mātur asad-grāhaṁ vidmaḥ pūrvaṁ yathā śrutam
tava = your; mātuḥ = of mother’s; asat-grāham = sinful eagerness; vidmaḥ = we know; pūrvam = in the past; yathā śrutam = [for] we have heard of it.
We know of your mother’s sinful eagerness, [for] we have heard of it in the past.
Sumantra had stated that Kaikeyī’s nature of being the killer of her husband is due to her being born of her mother. Now he begins to talk about her mother’s activities.
