Chapter 35: Furious Sumantra Criticizes Kaikeyī
Text 2.35.24
प्रियया च तथोक्तः सन्केकयः पृथिवीपतिः।
तस्मै तं वरदायार्थं कथयामास तत्त्वतः॥
priyayā ca tathoktaḥ san kekayaḥ pṛthivī-patiḥ
tasmai taṁ varadāyārthaṁ kathayām āsa tattvataḥ
priyayā ca = his beloved wife; tathā = thus; uktaḥ san = when spoke to him; kekayaḥ = Kekaya; pṛthivī-patiḥ = King; tasmai = to the [sage]; tam = the; varadāya = who had given him that benediction; artham = matter; kathayām āsa = related; tattvataḥ = truthfully.
When his beloved wife spoke to him thus, King Kekaya truthfully related the matter to the [sage] who had given him that benediction.
