Chapter 36: Kaikeyī Forbids the King from Sending Wealth With Rāma

तं दृष्ट्वा नागराः सर्वे क्रुद्धा राजानमब्रुवन्।
असमञ्जं वृणीष्वैकमस्मान्वा राष्ट्रवर्धन॥
taṁ dṛṣṭvā nāgarāḥ sarve kruddhā rājānam abruvan
asamañjaṁ vṛṇīṣvaikam asmān vā rāṣṭra-vardhana
tam = him; dṛṣṭvā = seeing; nāgarāḥ = the citizens; sarve = all; kruddhāḥ = became angry; rājānam = the king; abruvan = and told; asamañjam = Asamañja; vṛṇīṣva = accept; ekam1 asmān = us; vā = or; rāṣṭra-vardhana = O enhancer of the kingdom.
Seeing him, all the citizens became angry and told the king: O enhancer of the kingdom, accept Asamañja or us.
